Welcome
to the home of the Great 8 Summer Series! The 2009
season series is just around the corner and the
release of the new schedule is now out. This year
a few things will change as far as the overall scoring
and bonus points go. There will be 8 Great 8 tournaments,
2 beach tournaments, 2 midnight madness tournaments
and 4 other tournaments. For the points scoring
this year we will require 8 tournaments out of the
total of 16 tournaments. More information will be
released on the tournament listings page.
Also
featured on this site are the Midnight Madness Wrestling
Tournaments, Beach Wrestling, RoctoberFest Wrestling
and Rollvember Wrestling. We have created a brand
new web-site for these great series because of how
much they've grown over the past 5 years. We just
finished up our 5th year of summer time wrestling.
2008 was the most successful season that the Great
8 crew has seen since its inception. In 2008 we
averaged 350 wrestlers in the Great 8 Series, 2,770
wrestlers, with our largest tournament being the
Kickoff Classic which featured 541 wrestlers. Overall
numbers for the 16 summer tournaments came out to
4,336 wrestlers.
Purpose:
The
purpose of this site is to list information about
upcoming tournaments, results from those tournaments,
and a few other tournaments we recommend participating
in between June-November of the off season. We will
also post ANY and ALL UPDATES for upcoming tournaments
on this site when they are needed to be made. So
if you plan on attending one of our tournaments
be sure to check this site the night before and
make sure its at the location, time, and date that
you originally thought.
